Brief
History Of John Deere. In 1837,
John Deere, a young American blacksmith, revolutionised the
face of farming by perfecting the world's first commercially
successful self-scouring
plough. Known
for his ingenuity and quality work, John Deere mass produced
ploughs with only one goal in mind. "I will never
put my name on a product that does not have in it the best that is
in me." - John Deere
Touted as the world's leading producer of agricultural equipment John Deere continues to revolutionise the face of farming. With
factories in Germany, Spain, France, South Africa, Argentina, Brazil, Canada and the United States, John Deere's global
workforce helps to build the broadest line of farm machinery available today (such as tractors, self propelled forage harvesters, combines, seeding, tillage and hay
equipment).
Today, John Deere is a world leader in
premium lawn equipment. In 1962, drawing upon it's vast experience building farm tractors, John Deere entered the lawn and garden tractor industry with the introduction of the 110 Lawn and Garden Tractor.

The Grass Roots of Easier Lawn Care. The grass doesn't have to be greener on the other side of the
fence.
No more than one third of the grass blade should be cut off at one time. This promotes a
deeper root system which allows your lawn to easily find water and soil nutrients, especially in hot weather.
Keep your lawn well balanced. For a healthier,
greener lawn, the first step is taking the test. Find out your garden's PH, nitrogen, phosphorous
and potash levels.
Always
keep your blade sharp. Dull blades shred grass ends
creating entries for disease.
Compost heaps are an easy way to recycle your garden waste. To
build a composter, simply insert four 1.5 m wood or metal stakes 30 cm into the ground, in the shape of a square. Then fence in three sides with chicken wire. Finely chopped leaves, straw
and kitchen scraps like vegetable peelings can be used. Never use meat, bones or clip- pings that have recently been treated with sprays
containing herbicides or weed killers.
Your lawn needs, about 2.5 cm of
water per week , during the
mowing season. Always water in the morning. Water droplets left standing on grass overnight can harbour diseases that: are
harmful to your grass.
Don't let garden work cut your weekend short. Save time
and money with a John Deere mulching mower.
Mulching
mowers circulate clippings within the deck. They are cut
and re-cut, then blown back deep into the grass roots for a
natural, nitrogen rich boost.
Mulching cuts
up to one third off your mowing time.
No messy,
heavy bags to bother with. Mulching returns grass
clippings to your lawn.
Save up to 25%
on fertiliser. Mulching gives your lawn a natural,
nitrogen boost.
